Armenia's Desire to Join the EU Will 'Soon Disappear', Lavrov Says

Armenia's desire to join the European Union will 'soon disappear'. This was stated by the Minister of Foreign Affairs of Russia, Sergey Lavrov, at the Eastern Economic Forum.

According to him, the European Union is losing its economic advantages due to its policies, although some countries continue to aspire to join the bloc.

“Economically, the EU is losing its advantages because of many factors, including its lack of foresight, if not its foolishness,” Lavrov said.

The Russian Foreign Minister noted that the desire to join the EU is still being expressed in Armenia and Serbia.

“Our Serbian friends, and now our Armenian partners, continue to say they want to join the European Union. I am sure that their desire will soon disappear,” Lavrov stated.
