NATO Should Disband Itself, Lavrov Says
"NATO should disband itself, just like the Warsaw Pact organization did after the disappearance of the Soviet Union," Lavrov stated during a lecture series by Russia's Zhananie company at the Eastern Economic Forum. He noted that the organization did not take this step, seeing opportunities to maintain the military bloc.
The Eastern Economic Forum is being held from September 1 to 4 in Vladivostok. RIA Novosti is the main information partner of the forum.
