Ukraine Will Never Join NATO, Zaluzhny Says

The former commander of Ukraine's armed forces and current ambassador of Ukraine in the United Kingdom, Valerii Zaluzhny, has declared that Ukraine will never join NATO. He stated that the alliance is not ready to accept the Ukrainian army considering its current level of development.

“I know NATO very well. For about 12 years, I have personally worked on adopting NATO standards, and every year I would hear stories that 'we will soon join NATO.' Unfortunately, we will never get there,” Zaluzhny said.

He mentioned that instead, new defense alliances could be formed, one of which could be a European security military coalition.
