This Search Is an Intervention in Narek Karapetyan’s Political Activity: Vardevanyan

This morning, law enforcement officers conducted a search at the home of Narek Karapetyan, a member of the "Strong Armenia" party council and a member of the National Assembly. In a conversation with journalists, lawyer and party member Aram Vardevanyan stated that the action was carried out within the framework of a well-known criminal proceedings, describing it as an intervention in political activity.

According to Vardevanyan, the necessity and proportionality of the search have not been justified. He assessed that sufficient justifications for such intensive prosecutorial actions have not been presented.

The lawyer emphasized that Narek Karapetyan already holds the status of a National Assembly deputy, and under such circumstances, the actions taken against him should meet a higher threshold of justification.

Vardevanyan noted that since the search is a secret prosecutorial action, he cannot disclose further details. He informed that the legal team will appeal the decision regarding the search, and they will provide updates on the results later.
