Supporters of 'Strong Armenia' Assault a Person Supporting the CPP; Arrests Made
The National Police of Armenia reported that on May 11, information was received regarding an incident that occurred on May 10 around 5:00 PM, involving a dispute between three men from the town of Stepanavan at a restaurant in the Gulgaraq community.
It was revealed that after consuming alcohol, two men aged 45 and 44 argued with a fellow citizen and physically assaulted him, causing bodily harm. The assailants were identified and arrested based on reasonable suspicion. They have been presented to the investigative unit of Stepanavan along with the necessary documentation. A criminal case has been initiated, and the circumstances are being clarified.
Sources from 'Haykakan Zhamanak' in Stepanavan inform that the altercation took place at a restaurant named 'Fairy Tales' in Gulgaraq. Two of the disputants, Arsen Gevorgyan and Manvel Cherkezian, are supporters and activists of the 'Strong Armenia' party, while the third individual, Albert Gharakeshishyan, was also a supporter but has now changed his political views and supports the 'Civil Contract' party. They had dined together at the mentioned restaurant, after which Gevorgyan and Cherkezian confronted and assaulted Gharakeshishyan, inflicting bodily injuries.
The assailants attempted to cover up this incident, but police officers, based on operational data, uncovered the details of the case and located them.
