Putin Reveals What He Discussed With Trump

Russian President Vladimir Putin has presented details of his conversation with Donald Trump during a Security Council meeting, discussing the alliance of the USSR and the USA during World War II.

The Russian President stated that during a recent phone call with the American leader, they highlighted their common struggle against fascism. “We remembered that we fought against Nazism together and won together,” noted Putin.

On May 8, Donald Trump signed a proclamation declaring that day as the celebration of the United States' victory over 'evil and tyranny' in Europe. According to this document, more than 250,000 American soldiers lost their lives fighting against the Nazi regime. The President urged honoring the memory of millions of innocent victims.

Meanwhile, Alexander Darchiev, Russia's ambassador in Washington, expressed that the Victory Day positively impacts bilateral relations. The diplomat believes that Moscow and Washington will be able to find a 'correct trajectory' for restoring relations in the future.
