Launch of the 'Freedom' Project by Trump
The United States, under the decision of President Donald Trump, will launch the 'Freedom' project to remove ships blocked in the Persian Gulf through the Strait of Hormuz.
According to Trump, the decision was made based on humanitarian considerations and requests from third countries, as the ships are running out of supplies necessary for food and health maintenance. 'The movement of the ships is aimed solely at freeing people, companies, and countries that have committed absolutely no reprehensible act,' Trump stated on the Truth Social network.
The President also warned that if any opposition arises to the operation, the U.S. will resolve the issues through force. He emphasized that the removed ships will not return to the Gulf as long as navigation remains unsafe.
The U.S. Central Command reported that the operation, starting on May 4, will involve 15,000 soldiers, aircraft, and destroyers armed with guided missiles.
