Iran Hands Over 14-Point Document to the US
The Iranian authorities have handed over a 14-point document to Washington, outlining Tehran's key conditions for pausing the conflict. This proposal from Iran is a response to a previous nine-point plan presented by the United States, as reported by Fars and Tasnim news agencies.
Among Tehran's demands are guarantees of non-aggression, the withdrawal of American troops from neighboring regions, the lifting of the naval blockade, and the return of frozen Iranian assets. Additionally, Iran expects reparations, the lifting of sanctions in all spheres, including in Lebanon, the cessation of military operations, as well as the establishment of a new mechanism for activities in the Strait of Hormuz.
While the US previous proposal included a two-month ceasefire, Iranian authorities insist that all issues must be resolved finally within one month. According to Tasnim, “The emphasis should be placed not on the extension of the ceasefire but on the end of the war.”
At this moment, Tehran is awaiting Washington's response. It is worth noting that US President Donald Trump previously expressed dissatisfaction with Iran's earlier proposal, stating that the authorities of the republic were asking for things he could not grant them.
