Shocking Revelation About Netanyahu: His Current Situation According to Financial Times
The ceasefire achieved with Iran may have domestic political repercussions in Israel and affect Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu's position, reports the Financial Times citing assessments from experts.
Political analyst Aviv Bushinsky noted that at the start of the conflict, U.S. President Donald Trump and Netanyahu spoke about the possibility of regime change in Iran, but under the current conditions of the ceasefire, developments could lead to political changes within Israel itself. He stated that there is dissatisfaction among Israelis regarding the outcomes of the conflict.
According to the newspaper, the first poll conducted after the ceasefire showed that 63% of Israeli residents are dissatisfied with the results of the escalation, and less than half of the population supports Netanyahu's actions. It was also mentioned that discontent exists even among those close to the Prime Minister.
Analyst Dalia Sheindlin assessed that Netanyahu now faces the perception that U.S. President Biden forced him into a ceasefire. She emphasized that the neutralization of high-level opponents in recent years has not ensured adequate political support. Surveys over the last 18 months indicate that Netanyahu's coalition in the parliament could gain only 49-56 mandates out of 120.
Meanwhile, Donald Trump announced that the U.S. and Iran had reached a two-week ceasefire agreement. Iran's Supreme National Security Council stated that Washington had agreed to Tehran's proposed terms, and negotiations with the U.S. are expected soon in Islamabad.
