Cyclone Penetrates Armenia: Snow and Precipitation Expected

Due to the penetration of a cyclone from the Mediterranean Sea region, precipitation is expected in most regions starting from March 15 and continuing into the 16th, with snow in mountainous areas, and mixed rain and snow in pre-mountainous and valley regions.

On March 15 during the day and on the 16th, snow is expected in Shirak, Lori, the highland areas of Tavush, as well as in the mountainous regions of Ararat, Kotayk, Vayots Dzor, and Syunik, as well as in Gegharkunik. In some areas, the snowfall will be significant, accompanied by blizzard conditions and low horizontal visibility, with roads likely to be covered in black ice.

This information is reported by the Hydrometeorology and Monitoring State Service of Armenia. Precipitation is expected intermittently across most regions on March 15 during the day, on the 16th, and at night on the 17th, as well as on the 20th, with snow in mountainous regions and mixed rain and snow in pre-mountainous and valley areas. Significant precipitation is anticipated in certain areas from March 15 through the 16th.

Blizzard conditions are also expected in mountainous regions, with low horizontal visibility and black ice on roads. From March 17 through the 19th, dry weather is expected.

The wind will be from the northeast at 2-5 m/s. The air temperature during the day is predicted to gradually rise by 5-8 degrees Celsius from March 16 to the 19th. In Yerevan, rain is expected from March 15 through the 16th, and at night on the 17th, and on the 20th. Dry weather is anticipated on the 17th during the day and on the 18th and 19th.
