Hrazdan Gorge Street to be Named After Nikita Simonian
The Hrazdan Gorge Street, passing through the central administrative district (starting from Athens Street near the Hrazdan Stadium and reaching Halabyan Street), will henceforth bear the name of the legendary Soviet football player and coach, Olympic champion, and head coach of Ararat-73, Nikita Simonian. This was announced by the Yerevan City Hall.
Additionally, the 8th Silikian Street in the Ajapnyak administrative district (starting from 2nd Silikian Street, reaching 7th Silikian Street) will be named after Armenian composer, kanun player, and People’s Artist of the Armenian SSR, Khachatur Avetisyan.
A statue of the Armenian poet and fighter of the French Resistance, Misak Manushyan, will be installed in Yerevan's park bearing his name.
