From July 1, online transactions can be blocked with one tap: Central Bank
Starting July 1, 2026, consumers will have the option to block online financial transactions at their initiative with a single tap using mobile banking or the organization's website. This was announced by the Central Bank of Armenia.
For instance, it will be possible to block the processing of online loans, withdrawals from deposits or savings accounts, as well as other online transactions through mobile banking. The blocking action will be carried out exclusively after the consumer's identification and verification of identity.
This tool will enable consumers to better manage financial transactions conducted on their behalf and be more protected from fraudulent cases. Prior to the tool's launch by financial organizations, the Central Bank will provide additional information and remind consumers about the procedures and possibilities for its application.
Details of the regulation can be found in the “Minimum requirements for the introduction of self-limiting tools for financial services by consumers” under Regulation 8/09. After July 1, the availability of this tool will be mandatory for banks, branches of foreign banks, credit organizations, and money transfer service providers that offer financial services remotely.
