Ballistic Missile Fired from Iran Neutralized in Turkish Airspace
The Turkish Ministry of National Defense has announced that a ballistic missile fired from Iran and heading towards Turkish airspace was successfully intercepted by NATO air and missile defense systems in a timely manner.
According to the ministry's statement, the missile traveled through Iraqi and Syrian airspace before moving towards Turkey. It was intercepted and destroyed by NATO defensive forces stationed in the Eastern Mediterranean before reaching Turkish airspace.
The report also mentioned that the debris found in the Dörtyol district of Hatay Province belongs to the air defense systems that were employed to neutralize the threat in the air. Fortunately, there were no casualties as a result of this incident.
The Turkish Ministry of Defense emphasized that the country is prepared to ensure the safety of its territory and citizens, regardless of the source of the threat, and will continue consultations with NATO and its allies.
