Deadline Set: New Decision on Employment Contracts by Torosyan
In an extraordinary session of the National Assembly, the bill on amendments and additions to the Labor Code of the Republic of Armenia was discussed and fully adopted in its second reading.
The proposed amendment pertains to an earlier decision, which stipulates that starting January 1, 2026, the signing, modification, and termination of employment contracts must be carried out exclusively through a digital system.
During the first reading of the project, it was suggested that the digital implementation for signing, modifying, and terminating employment contracts be postponed to January 1, 2027. However, during the second reading discussions in the Permanent Commission on Labor and Social Issues of the National Assembly, it was proposed to replace January 1, 2027, with July 1, 2027.
The National Assembly approved the bill in its second reading with 59 votes in favor, 0 against, and 1 abstention. For further details, see the video.
