Iranian Ambassador Addresses Complaints Regarding Armenia
The Iranian Embassy in Armenia has ceremoniously celebrated the National Day, marking the 47th anniversary of the Iranian Islamic Revolution.
During a conversation with journalists, Iranian Ambassador Khalil Shirgolami addressed the protests that occurred several weeks ago in front of the Iranian embassy in Yerevan, as well as complaints from the Iranian side. In response to a question about the arising grievances, the ambassador stated that most issues have been resolved.
“We thank the senior officials of Armenia. Yes, largely that issue is already resolved. There are cases where even among friends and relatives such things arise, and they get upset with each other. But old friends are friends,” the ambassador remarked.
It is worth noting that the protests organized in Yerevan were sparked by the ongoing demonstrations in Iran, which caused dissatisfaction on the Iranian side. The ambassador had previously mentioned in a conversation with journalists that insults were directed towards the authorities of the country during those protests, and there is a growing impression in Tehran that Armenia is turning into a center for anti-Iranian actions.
