The Responsible Will Be Remembered: Europe Supports Iranians, Ursula von der Leyen
The President of the European Commission, Ursula von der Leyen, has announced that the European Union fully supports the anti-government protests taking place in Iran, which are being dispersed by security forces. This was reported by the APA news agency.
According to her, the participants in the protests in Tehran and other cities of Iran are demanding "freedom of speech, freedom of assembly, freedom of movement, and, above all, the freedom to live."
“Europe fully supports them. We strongly condemn the brutal repression of legitimate demonstrations in Iran. The responsible will be remembered; they have found themselves on the wrong side of history,” emphasized Ursula von der Leyen, President of the European Commission.
She called for the immediate release of all detained protesters, the restoration of full internet access, and the respect for fundamental human rights.
