Armenia Among the Best Travel Destinations for 2026, According to The New York Times
The prestigious American publication The New York Times has included Armenia in its list of 52 places to visit in 2026. In the ranking, Armenia secured the 20th position, surpassing several well-known tourist destinations, including Spain, England, and the Seychelles.
The article highlights a significant increase in tourist interest towards Armenia. According to the report, record numbers were registered in the first eight months of 2025, with August marking the highest month for tourist arrivals.
Special attention was given to the country's wine culture. The article notes that in May, Yerevan will host one of the major international competitions in the wine industry, the Concours Mondial de Bruxelles, which is considered a key event in the sector.
The publication emphasizes that Armenia's winemaking traditions have a history of over 6000 years. Tourists are offered wine tourism routes across the country's four main wine regions, enhancing Armenia's appeal as a travel destination.
