Nearly 5 Million AMD Fines Paid for Traveling Without a Ticket in Yerevan
From August to December 1 of this year, approximately 1,500 citizens have been fined for administrative violations in public transport in Yerevan. According to Article 137.9 of the RA Administrative Offenses Code, fines have been imposed on citizens for violations related to traveling without a ticket, taking advantage of another person's privileges, and not paying the fare when able to do so.
In an interview with Aysor.am, Ofelya Simonyan, the acting head of the public relations department of the Yerevan Municipality, stated that the number of paid fines amounts to 552.
It is noteworthy that the fine for not paying the fare in Yerevan's public transport is set at 15,000 AMD. As a result, the total amount already paid by fined citizens has reached 4 million 907 thousand AMD.
