How Does the Prime Minister Choose a Church to Attend a Service? The Secretary of the Civil Contract Clarifies
According to Arthur Ghoyan, the Secretary of the 'Civil Contract' faction in the National Assembly, the meetings between the NSS and other individuals with clergy have nothing to do with pressuring them or censoring their speech.
"It is exclusively related to whether these clergy members share the church's renewal agenda. We make inquiries through various people who are familiar with the clergy, and based on that, the Prime Minister decides whether to participate in that service or not. There can be no talk of censorship, coercion, or pressure," said Ghoyan.
It is worth recalling that Nikol Pashinyan announced he would be attending a church service in Gyumri this Sunday.
