This Year the Main Christmas Tree Will Feature New Lights and Branches, 600 Million Drams Allocated for Works
The festive decorations work has already commenced on the streets of Yerevan. According to Armen Arakelyan, the head of the Trade, Services, and Advertising Department of Yerevan Municipality, the capital is preparing for the holiday season with new accents and updated lighting.
He mentioned in an interview with Aysor.am that a competition had been held for the implementation of the decorations, with the results now being finalized. “The competition has ended, we have winning organizations, and we are now in the phase of signing contracts. The work will primarily focus on the Central Administrative District,” Arakelyan noted.
This year’s budget for festive decorations has remained at last year’s level, totaling 600 million drams. With this funding, several areas of the city will be adorned, including the Victory Bridge, Tumanyan and Abovyan Streets, Saryan and Conservatory Parks, North Avenue, and Republic Square.
As for the main Christmas tree, it will have a new look this year, featuring new lights, new branches, and a new top. According to the municipality, new style Christmas trees will also be installed in all administrative districts of the capital. The installation of the Christmas trees will be carried out by the appropriate community organization of Yerevan, while the lighting and decoration works will be handled by the staff of the administrative districts.
