Peace Agreement Will Benefit Both Iran and Russia, Prime Minister
Nikol Pashinyan has commented on the documents signed in Washington and the "Trump route" during an appearance on Fox News.
"I believe that this agreement and declaration contain quite tangible benefits for both Iran and Russia. Because, if and when this agreement is implemented, for example, Iran will have a railway entry from the Persian Gulf to the Black Sea. And Russia and Iran will be able to establish a railway connection between the two countries.
What I mean is that if we focus on the economic aspect of this agreement, not only Armenia, Azerbaijan, the USA, and Turkey, but also Russia and Iran will gain very important and indeed unprecedented profits. Because currently, there is no railway from the South Caucasus that connects Iran and Russia," the Prime Minister stated.
Pashinyan noted that the goal of Armenia is stability, peace, sustainable development, and economic and political cooperation. "Therefore, I consider this a very important agreement that can bring significant benefits to all countries, as well as, by the way, the entire international community in terms of ensuring international stability and security.
I have already mentioned that we have a project called 'Peace Crossroads,' and indeed this agreement can become a kind of crossroads for cooperation and peace, which is our goal. We do not want to provoke conflicts; we do not want to create tension. Our goal is stability, peace, sustainable development, economic and political cooperation. And I believe that based on yesterday's declaration, this is a very important and suitable platform for those objectives," he added.
