US Intelligence Sources Confirm Assassination Attempt on Iranian President
Two US intelligence sources have confirmed to CBS News that Iranian President Masoud Pezeshkian was injured during one of the attacks carried out by Israel on Iran. The sources reported that Iranian state media's claims, stating that Pezeshkian was attending a meeting of the Supreme National Security Council at the time of the attack, were accurate, noting, "The Iranian president was the target of Israel." The state's media reported that he sustained injuries to his leg.
It is worth recalling that earlier in an interview with journalist Tucker Carlson, the Iranian president stated that Israel had attempted to kill him by bombarding the area where he was present. When asked whether he believed Israel had tried to assassinate him, Pezeshkian replied, "Yes, they tried. And they acted accordingly, but they failed."
