Arthur Sargsyan Stripped of Parliamentary Immunity
National Assembly member from the 'Armenia' faction, Arthur Sargsyan, has been stripped of his parliamentary immunity.
The parliament approved the request of the Prosecutor General to initiate criminal proceedings against him through a closed, secret ballot. Additionally, 62 members voted in favor of lifting Sargsyan's immunity.
It is noteworthy that he is implicated in the 'Holy Struggle' case, where Archbishop Bagrat Galstanyan and his associates have been detained. They are accused of preparing for terrorism and the usurpation of power.
The prosecutor has also submitted a request for Sargsyan's deprivation of freedom.
