Iran's Potential Retaliation Against the US Revealed
If negotiations to resolve the conflict between Israel and Iran fail, Tehran may retaliate against the United States with cyberattacks, missile strikes, the closure of the Strait of Hormuz, or the activation of hidden US drones. These are among the options cited by The Hill.
Despite a two-week conflict, Iran still possesses advanced offensive cyber capabilities. Additionally, Iran may still have about half of its initial stock of ballistic missiles, which could be used against 19 locations in the Middle East where American forces are deployed, the report states.
"One option that would have massive global consequences would be the closure of the Strait of Hormuz, a crucial navigation route through which more than 20 percent of the world’s oil passes daily," The Hill writes. Furthermore, the text indicates that officials from the Trump administration are also concerned that Iran may attempt to activate hidden drones in the United States as one of the methods to retaliate against Washington.
