Hundreds of Tourists Affected in Turkey
At least 268 tourists have been affected by the actions of a criminal group in Turkey. This was reported by the Turkish publication Ege Telegraf.
The 20-member criminal group has stolen a total of $29.2 million from the cards of foreign tourists arriving in Turkey for tourism purposes. However, both the affected individuals and the total damage may turn out to be much higher according to final assessments.
According to the publication, the criminal organization operated in various regions of the country, robbing tourists in Istanbul, Antalya, and other coastal holiday areas. The criminals carried out thefts unchecked and unpunished for months, and it was only recently that the police managed to arrest them.
