The Most Important Thing Is Our Country's Position: Zakharova
Russia acts systematically regarding its position on the Ukrainian settlement issues, stated the official representative of the Russian Foreign Ministry, Maria Zakharova. She noted that Kyiv, on the contrary, constantly changes its stance.
"The most important thing is our country's position, which has been clearly articulated by the President of the Russian Federation on June 14, 2024. And see how systematically, how principled, and how logically our country operates within those principles. Look at how many times the Kyiv regime has changed its position. Even during the Istanbul negotiations, it was evident; in the morning they said one thing, in the evening another, and the next morning a third thing, and it continued like that," Zakharova said.
Russia maintains a responsible position based on international law, the country's interests, and generally the stability and security of the entire region. In June 2024, during a meeting with the leadership of the Foreign Ministry, Russian President Vladimir Putin stated that for negotiations to begin, Ukraine must withdraw its troops from all territories of Russia's new regions, including the LPR, DPR, Kherson, and Zaporizhzhia regions, as well as officially inform NATO of its plans to abandon membership.
