India and Pakistan Agree to Extend Ceasefire: Pakistan's Foreign Ministry

India and Pakistan have agreed to extend the ceasefire until May 18. This was announced by Pakistan's First Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Ishaq Dar, as reported by RIA Novosti.

“The agreement was reached during a phone conversation on May 14 between the military commanders of both countries. There was another similar conversation, and by mutual consent, the ceasefire will be extended until May 18,” said the Pakistani Foreign Minister.

It should be noted that relations between Pakistan and India have strained following a terrorist attack by militants from the 'Lashkar-e-Taiba' group on April 22 in the union territory of Jammu and Kashmir, resulting in the deaths of 25 Indian citizens and one Nepalese. New Delhi asserted that Pakistan's Inter-Services Intelligence was involved in the attack.
