Air Alert Declared in Ukraine as Moscow Blames Kyiv
Moscow and Kyiv have both reported numerous violations of the three-day ceasefire declared by the Russian President, which came into effect at midnight on May 8. This was communicated by the Russian Ministry of Defense, as reported by RIA Novosti.
“The Ukrainian armed forces have continued combat operations, while all Russian units have completely ceased combat actions and remained in their previously occupied positions. A total of 488 violations of the ceasefire regime have been recorded,” the Russian military department stated.
According to the Russian Ministry of Defense, the Ukrainian Armed Forces attempted to cross the state border twice in the Kursk region. The acting governor of the Kursk region, Alexander Khinshtein, reported that a 61-year-old woman was killed as a result of shelling in the border settlement of Glushkov.
Furthermore, the second floor of the police station collapsed due to the falling of intercepted aerial targets. It is also noted that Ukraine’s Foreign Minister Andrei Sibihan had earlier reported that since midnight, Russian soldiers have launched 586 attacks on Ukrainian positions, delivered 176 strikes using FPV drones, and conducted 10 air strikes with 16 guided aerial bombs.
“An air alert has been declared in several regions of Ukraine, including Kharkiv, Chernihiv, Dnipro, Zaporizhzhia, and Sumy. In the Kharkiv region, three women were injured from a drone strike early in the morning,” the Ukrainian side announced.
