Tensions Rise: India and Pakistan Exchange Rocket Strikes
According to India's Ministry of Defense, Indian Armed Forces have initiated 'Operation Sindhur,' targeting terrorist infrastructures located in Pakistani territory, as reported by Indian news outlet News 18.
"Strikes have been directed at terrorist infrastructures within Pakistani territory. None of our military establishments have come under attack. The actions have been targeted and calculated," the statement reads.
In response to the situation, Islamabad has closed its airspace for 48 hours and has launched retaliatory rocket strikes towards Indian targets.
Additionally, it has been reported that at least 12 terrorists have been killed and 55 injured due to the strikes on terrorist camps in Pakistan. The Pakistan military has announced that at least 8 civilians have died and 35 others have been injured due to the Indian strikes. The Indian side has reported the death of 3 civilians as well.
