Marutyan Accepts Avinyan's Proposal
“Since the city hall has requested to postpone the debate due to absence from the country, we propose to organize it during the period from December 15 to 20,” wrote former Yerevan mayor Hayk Marutyan on his Facebook page.
Hayk Marutyan has accepted the proposal to debate with the current mayor Tigran Avinyan. He announced this on his Facebook page.
Marutyan suggested organizing the debate between December 15 and 20.
It is noted that Avinyan announced during the Yerevan City Council meeting on November 19 that he is ready to debate Hayk Marutyan on the topic of the increase in transportation prices in any format.
Avinyan’s spokesperson Hayk Kostanyan responded that Mayor Tigran Avinyan will participate in the debate, but not on that day, as the mayor will be on an official visit to the USA.
It is worth reminding that starting January 1, the price of transportation will increase by 200% to 300 drams if a single ticket is purchased.
The Yerevan city hall offers six payment packages to citizens using public transport. The annual package is comparatively more economical, where the fare would amount to 120.5 drams if used twice a day.
