Protesters Storm Parliament Building in Abkhazia
Protesters in Abkhazia are demanding the immediate resignation of President Aslan Bzhania. The opposition criticizes him for his dependence on Moscow and alleged betrayal of national interests.
A few hours ago, in the capital city of Sukhum, demonstrators broke down the gate and stormed the parliament square. At the same time, members of parliament in Sukhum did not approve the agenda and postponed the discussion on the ratification of an investment agreement with Russia, a law opposed by many residents of Abkhazia and the opposition.
