Abkhazia's President Resigns
The President of Abkhazia, Aslan Bzhania, has submitted his resignation, according to local media reports.
It is noted that in the capital city of Sukhum, people conducted protests near the parliament and presidential residence against the signing of an investment agreement with Russia. Initially, protesters broke the gates of the parliament building with a truck and stormed inside, then they surrounded the presidential palace and once again broke the gates.
The protesters demanded the immediate resignation of the president. They threw eggs and bottles at the police, who in turn used smoke bombs. Gunshots were heard near the parliament, and during the protest, eight people sustained injuries.
