Biden Allows Ukraine to Use ATACMS Missiles Against Russia for the First Time
U.S. President Joe Biden has, for the first time, allowed Ukraine to use long-range ATACMS missiles to strike deep into Russian territory, reports the New York Times.
This decision represents a significant shift in U.S. foreign policy. The head of the White House made this move just two months before Donald Trump, the expected election winner, had previously announced his intention to limit support for Ukraine.
Some officials in the White House are concerned that Ukraine's use of ATACMS missiles could provoke a fierce reaction from Moscow against Washington and its allies. Meanwhile, another group of U.S. officials considers these fears to be exaggerated.
