July to End with a Strong Magnetic Storm
In July, one of the strongest solar eruptions may lead to a magnetic storm on Earth, with its peak expected on Tuesday at noon, reports the Meteovesti portal of the Phobos Weather Center.
“July will conclude with a strong magnetic storm. Last night, for the first time in the last twelve days, the Sun experienced a maximum level eruption with a magnitude of X1.5, ranking among the top 20 most powerful eruptions. An increase in geomagnetic activity is anticipated for this year. A G1 class weak magnetic storm could begin on Earth as early as the following night, which will continue throughout Tuesday and gradually intensify, reaching a maximum of G3 class,” the statement said.
