Putin Sets Conditions for Negotiations with Ukraine
Russian President Vladimir Putin has stated that negotiations between Russia and Ukraine must be based on current realities. “Even taking into account the agreements reached in Istanbul, we must, nevertheless, proceed from today’s realities,” Putin said at the plenary session of the St. Petersburg International Economic Forum (SPIEF).
He added that if there is a desire to negotiate, it is possible to find out whom to negotiate with. “We are ready for these negotiations, but only, I repeat, on the conditions we agreed upon when we started these negotiations in Minsk, then in Istanbul, and not on some ‘tricks’,” he emphasized.
The St. Petersburg International Economic Forum is being held from June 5 to 8.
