Water Levels Decrease Observed in Debed and Akhtala River Basins: Ministry of Environment
The Ministry of Environment of the Republic of Armenia reports a decrease in water levels in the Debed and Akhtala river basins as of 08:00 on May 27, 2024, compared to the levels observed at 08:00 on May 26, 2024. Specifically, at the Ayrium observation point on the Debed River, the level decreased by 105 cm, on the Dzoraget River by 70 cm, on the Pambak River by 50 cm, and on the Tashir River by 57 cm.
In the Akhtala River basin at the Dilijan observation point, the water level decreased by 50 cm as of 08:00 on May 27, compared to the level observed at 08:00 on May 26.
At the Ijevan observation point on the Akhtala River, the water level increased by 35 cm as of 08:00 on May 27 compared to the level on May 26 at 08:00, but decreased by 30 cm compared to the level observed at 20:00 on May 26.
In the Kiran River basin, the water level observed at 08:00 on May 27 decreased by 125 cm compared to the level on May 26 at 08:00.
Regarding the amount of precipitation, on the afternoon of May 25 and during the night of May 26, rainfall of 40-54 mm was recorded in Lori and Tavush regions. On the afternoon of May 26 and during the night of May 27, the precipitation amounted to 2-7 mm, which is 38-47 mm less than the amounts recorded the previous day.
