«We will no longer allow such things»: Tigran Avinyan

The Mayor of Yerevan, Tigran Avinyan, has ordered a discussion to be organized between the city hall and the construction company in the Veratnund neighborhood. It has been reported that there is a discrepancy between the city hall's permission and the area registered in the cadastre after construction. The waterproof surface has been registered as a terrace, while it was presented according to the agreement as public area.

"We need to understand the interesting method of blackmail that is being applied against us because, for example, there are many buildings in Yerevan that do not have a completion certificate, and people have been living in them for years. There are numerous problematic buildings. And as I understand, residents are not allowed to enter based on the logic and condition that we are being blackmailed, saying, 'Give us the [performance act], or we won't let you in,'" he said. "We have seen how, using this method, another building has been constructed in the place designated for a kindergarten and a school in various neighborhoods; we will no longer allow such things."
