Rainfall Expected, Temperature to Rise: Weather in Armenia
Due to the powerful cyclone penetrating from the south, heavy snowfall has been recorded in Shirak, Lori, the foothills of Tavush, the mountains of Aragatsotn, Kotayk, Vayots Dzor, Gegharkunik, and the mountainous and foothill areas of Syunik overnight from March 19 to 20. In some areas, blizzards and low horizontal visibility have been observed. This information is provided by the Hydrometeorological Monitoring Center.
It is reported that from March 20 to 24, intermittent rainfall and fog are expected in significant parts of the regions throughout the Republic. From March 21 to 24, snowfall is expected at night in the mountainous regions.
The wind will be southern at a speed of 2-5 m/s, and on March 21-22, in some locations, wind gusts of 15-18 m/s are expected.
The air temperature will rise by 5-7 degrees from March 20 to 21. In Yerevan, from March 20 to 24, rain is expected intermittently, with intense precipitation during the night. On March 20, daytime temperatures in the capital will range from 11-13 degrees, while in the evening, temperatures will register between +7 and +9 degrees.
