Under What Circumstances Can Citizens Pay a Fine 20% Lower?
The Armenian Parliament is discussing a package of amendments to the Code of Administrative Offenses, which includes a bonus system for violations of traffic regulations. Deputy Minister of Internal Affairs Arpine Sargsyan stated that citizens would have the opportunity to pay their fines 20% lower if they receive notifications electronically for violations recorded by surveillance cameras.
“We plan for this rule to come into effect starting May 1 of this year,” she said. According to her, if 70% of the fine is paid within 15 days of receiving the electronic notification, the remaining amount will be deemed paid. The Deputy Minister noted that all of these changes apply to violations committed after the law comes into effect.
