Dani Alves Sentenced to 4.5 Years in Prison
The Spanish court has found former Barcelona and Brazil national team footballer Dani Alves guilty of sexual assault and sentenced him to 4.5 years in prison. This information is stated in the court's decision, as reported by TASS.
It is noted that Alves has the right to appeal the ruling in the Court of Appeals. Alves, 40, has been playing for the Mexican club Pumas since July 2022. Previously, he played for Italian Juventus, French PSG, Spanish Sevilla, and Barcelona.
The defender is among the most decorated footballers in history, boasting 43 titles. He has become a six-time champion of Spain, a two-time champion of France, an Italian champion, and has won the Champions League three times, the UEFA Cup twice, and the UEFA Super Cup three times. With the Brazil national team, he has won the Confederations Cup twice (2009, 2013) and the Copa America twice (2007, 2019), and he also became an Olympic champion (2021).
