Peskov Comments on Pashinyan's Statement that Armenia is Not an Ally of Russia on Ukraine Issue
The positions of Moscow and Yerevan on Ukraine are diametrically opposed, and Russia will continue to stubbornly explain its correctness. This was stated by Dmitry Peskov, the press secretary of the Russian president, while commenting on Armenian Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan's statement that Armenia is not an ally of Russia on the issue of Ukraine.
“Indeed, we have diametrically opposing views on what is happening in Ukraine and regarding the conflict around Ukraine. This is no secret. Therefore, this is a well-known position of our Armenian friends. We disagree with them on this and will stubbornly continue to explain our correctness,” said Peskov.
During a meeting with representatives of the Armenian community in Germany, Pashinyan once again stated that Yerevan is not an ally of Moscow on the Ukraine issue. The Armenian government leader reminded that the Almaty Declaration (1991) applies to everyone, not just Armenia, as it was signed by the former Soviet republics, including Russia and Ukraine, recognizing each other's borders.
