Vahe Davtyan Wins Silver Medal
Vahe Davtyan has won a silver medal at the ongoing World Cup in gymnastics held in Cairo, scoring 14.500 points and securing 2nd place.
It is noteworthy that the first phase of the Gymnastics World Cup competition, which serves as a qualifying event for the Paris Olympic Games, has commenced in the capital of Egypt, Cairo.
The team led by Hakob Serobyan is participating in the World Cup competition with five gymnasts: Arthur Davtyan, Vahe Davtyan, Harutyun Merdinyan, Arthur Avetisyan, and Gagik Khachatryan.
On the first day of competition, qualification rounds for the rings and pommel horse events took place. In the rings event, Vahe Davtyan scored 14.533 points, matching the score of Arthur Avetisyan. The representatives from Armenia advanced to the finals in both first and second places.
In the pommel horse qualification, Harutyun Merdinyan earned 14.333 points, while Armenia's second participant, Gagik Khachatryan, scored 13.700 points. In the first round of the qualifying phase for the vault event, the first place was taken by Arthur Davtyan, the bronze medalist of the Tokyo Olympic Games, world champion, double European champion, and qualified for the Paris Olympic Games.
