Italian Farmers Prepare to Bring Tractors to Rome

Protests by farmers continue in Italy. They are demanding that the authorities ensure the protection of domestic products and repeal bilateral agreements signed with non-EU countries, primarily with Ukraine, which they claim are "destroying" the agriculture of member states.

Participants in the protest, moving in tractors, spent the night outdoors and refused to leave, despite being denied entry into Rome. Rome's prefect Lamberto Giannini has prohibited the entry of equipment into the capital. Authorities fear that if tractors are allowed into Rome, protests may also erupt in other Italian cities.
