Winston Churchill's Denture Goes Under the Hammer in the UK
The Cotswold Auction Company in Cheltenham, western England, has put up for auction a set of dentures belonging to former British Prime Minister Winston Churchill, complete with gold fittings.
The auction house notes that this denture was one of several customized for Churchill, designed to ensure that the politician's speeches sounded natural.
It is believed that Churchill had 3-4 similar sets made. The displayed prosthesis was created around the time of World War II when Churchill was 65 years old.
The auction is scheduled for February 6, with an estimated initial value of £5,000 to £8,000.
