Iran Launches Satellite into Orbit
The Iranian Space Agency has successfully launched the "Soraya" satellite into orbit, according to Tasnim news agency. The satellite was launched at an altitude of 750 km, and it weighs approximately 50 kg.
The launch took place on Saturday morning, January 20, in the presence of General Major Hossein Salami, the commander of the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC), along with the space agency head Hassan Salarieh and the commander of the Air Force General Amir Ali Hajizadeh.
Previously, North Korea had announced that its reconnaissance satellite enabled surveillance of the Pentagon and the White House. North Korea issued a threatening statement promising a severe response to any attempts to damage its satellite. Gazeta.Ru has sought to determine whether it is possible to discreetly destroy a spacecraft without visibly launching surface-to-air missiles.
