Armenia to Assume EAEU Presidency from Russia on January 1, 2024
As previously reported, Armenian Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan is participating in the EAEU summit in Saint Petersburg. “I would like to thank the Russian side and personally President Vladimir Putin for organizing today’s event at the highest level. Armenia will assume the EAEU presidency from Russia on January 1, 2024. In this regard, we expect state and effective support to address the tasks at hand,” he stated.
It is symbolic that Armenia’s presidency coincides with the 10th anniversary of the signing of the EAEU treaty, which is based on the fundamental premise that the EAEU is an economic union that should not have a political, let alone geopolitical agenda.
