Pope Francis on the Spiritual Monuments of Artsakh
Pope Francis has called for the preservation and respect of the monasteries and places of worship in Nagorno-Karabakh. This was reported by RIA Novosti.
“My concern regarding the crisis in Nagorno-Karabakh has not lessened. Besides the dire humanitarian situation of the refugees, I would like to make a special appeal for the protection of the monasteries and places of worship in this region,” he stated after his Sunday sermon at St. Peter's Square in the Vatican.
“I hope that respect and protection will be ensured for them as a part of the local culture, an expression of faith, and a sign of brotherhood, making coexistence possible despite differences,” the Pope added.
