Was Hamas's attack an attempt to exploit the West's focus on Ukraine? Blinken's response
“The Hamas attack on Israel is not related to the West's focus on the situation in Ukraine.” This was stated by U.S. Secretary of State Antony Blinken in an interview with CBS.
When asked if there is a sense that the attack was an attempt to take advantage of the West's attention on Ukraine, Blinken responded negatively: “No, I don't see that, but one thing is clear. We are actively working to help Israel and Saudi Arabia normalize their relations, as well as expand Israel's relationships with many other countries in the region and beyond. It is very hard work, and it is unclear if we can achieve it. But if we could, it would truly change the outlook for the entire region going forward,” Blinken stated.
