Aliyev Responds to Blinken's Statement
Aliyev has expressed his willingness to halt military operations and negotiate with the Armenians of Nagorno-Karabakh during a conversation with Blinken, provided that the Nagorno-Karabakh armed forces lay down their arms. This was reported by the State Department.
It is worth recalling that Anthony Blinken had previously emphasized that there is no military solution and that the parties should resume dialogue to resolve the differences between Baku and the ethnic Armenians in Nagorno-Karabakh.
Blinken also spoke with Armenian Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan, stressing that the U.S. calls on Azerbaijan to immediately cease military operations and return to dialogue. He noted that the United States fully supports Armenia's sovereignty, independence, and territorial integrity.
