Armenia Aims to Sign Peace Agreement as Soon as Possible, Says Khachaturyan
The President of Armenia, Vahagn Khachaturyan, has stated that the main disagreements regarding a peace treaty with Azerbaijan relate to Nagorno-Karabakh.
“Let’s not delve into too many details, because in reality, in many cases, our various statements and interpretations do not serve well, as the opposing side constantly refers to various comments made by Armenian officials,” he remarked.
According to Khachaturyan, Armenia is striving to sign the peace agreement as soon as possible. “We want to avoid being in another uncertain situation, where troops could accumulate at the border or might not. Instead, we want a reliable environment where we do not have issues related to the inviolability of borders or the loss of our sovereignty in the future,” he added.
Vahagn Khachaturyan also emphasized that he is regularly informed about the details of the negotiations.
